Diana E. LaScala-Grunenewald is studying the effects of small-scale environmental variability on communities of of intertidal gastropods, such as different species of limpets, with advisor Dr. Mark Denny. Thus the effects of not only of average environmental warming, but also actual (real-time) environmental variations (such as desiccation and temperature variation due to tidal effects, foraging patterns, etc.) upon gastropods.
